This past Friday, September 25th, students at the University of Florida participated in a protest outside of a Bank of Ameria branch in Gainesville.  The students were members of the Florida Frontier, a independent conservative student publication on campus.  After learning of Bank of America's longstanding financial committment to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), they decided to voice their opposition by protesting outside of their local branch.

ACORN has recently been plauged by scandal after employees in several locations were videotaped giving advice to a woman posing as a [explicit] and a man posing as a pimp on how to commit tax evasion to set up a brothel with underage girls from El Salvadore.

Armed with the information they needed from CampusReform.org, the twelve students were able to successfully execute their protest.  Bryan Griffin, Editor in Chief of the publication, reported a positive reaction from bank customers.

As of Monday, September 28th, Bank of America has discontinued funding to ACORN.  However, other banks such as Wells Fargo, Wachovia, PNC and Citigroup have not.  Help us hold these banks accountable!
